My home town has the oldest county fair in the country; this year will be 189th annual county fair.  I no longer live there, but when I was growing up there, that was the biggest event of the summer!!  http://www.steubencountyfair.org/

The cleveland area generally has about 10-12 a year.

It's usually the same rides over and over again.

With the rising cost of gas, I can't imagine how these traveling amusement parks are going to raise their prices, but it won't be pretty.

May day (mainly free rides for little kids) beer tents for the men,and the ladies get to chat while keeping an eye on both.And a circus once a year.
