Or does everyone talk instead of whispering, yell across the room, kids run around, pull tantrums when bored or not allowed on the computers, pull books off shelves and leave them?

What happened to the good old days!

  1. The good old days are long gone much to my dismay. Today I reserve books on the net & only go in long enough to pick them up. The library has become a free baby sitter. Rude children rule the roost. They need to be taught manners but the staff is so busy trying to keep them from destroying books. And if they correc the little heathens they are afraid to be sued by their rotten parents.  It's all so sad.

  2. It doesn't seem to be a problem at my local library.  If someone is out of line, there's a lot of peer pressure exerted.  The library is divided as to where the adult section is upstairs and kid section is down, so not as much running around.  The adults are not allowed in the kids bathrooms at all.

More libraries should be like this.

  3. My local libraries are always orderly and quiet.
