  1. flexibility helps a bit, usually if you are lexible you have a strong core, and your core is a vital part of your jumping cause it helps all the muscles in your legs exert on your body...so being flexible helps with jumping, but i would not say it is the main thing

  2. Flexibility doesn't do you much good when it comes to jumping, it's all in the legs.  I am the least flexible girl on my team, of ten girls, and I have the highest vertical jump. I am 5'7 and I jump 9'3.  The most important muscle for jumping are you calves, you can strengthen them by buying expensive equipment, or you can just do as I do. All I do is when I am walking around the house, shopping, or even just standing around, I stand on my tip-toes, this is a easy, cheap way to dramatically increase your vertical jump. I hope it works!

  3. no....it does not.....calves and strong quads are essential for a good vertical. I am 5'9 and reached 10'4 and was not very flexable, I did wall sits....ran up and down stairs on my toes and played as much as possible. Flexiablity will only help with avoiding injuries.
