Does your yahoo profile have to be completly filled out to join a yahoo group?

Not for your public profile.  Some people only have their nickname on their public profile and leave the rest of the info blank.  

Some adult group owners require your age to show on your public profile if you subscribe to their groups.  Some Freecycle/recycle groups require your location to show.  It just depends on the individual groups' rules as to what needs to be filled out.

It will depend on the group owner as to what their policy is because some groups are age specific if the public profile must be filled out.

Yahoo does not require this in their TOS, profiles are optional. depending on group, they may require it but I would suggest consideration to any personal info  added to a profile. anyone can add any content on it, be it truthful or not, so the group requirement of it hardly means it's accurate information on a profile.

Yahoo does not have that requirement, but some group owners prefer to override Yahoo and do require that the profile you use for their group be complete.
