I have 1MB Broadband, so do not have much download space. Last month I went over the download space by watching videos on iPlayer, which does use up download space. Does youtube do the same? Because I don't want to go over the limit again.

  1. Did someone charge you extra for going over something?

Normally, 1MB broadband means that your internet connection coming into your house is set to 1MB per second as a max.

What that means is if you are trying to access a file(youtube movie) on the internet...the maximum speed that it will transfer from youtube to your computer is 1MB per second. So if the file is 50 MB then it will take 50 seconds to get to your computer.

Youtube streams data to your computer when you watch a movie...1 youtube video is normally larger than 1MB.

  2. Yes, Youtube is streaming media. And what streaming media does, is it downloads the media to your pc as you watch it.  Then after it's been watched and your cache is cleared it removes it from your system.  Even browsing web pages uses bandwidth, Although it's a small negligible amount.

  3. no

  4. Why not try moyea flv downloader, It downloads fast with very high quality, and it's free! I've been using it for a long time. You can save and download any streaming video from youtube, Google Video, Myspace, Metacafe, Dailymotion, iFilm, Music, eVideoShare, StreetFire, etc. off to your computer hard drive.
