Doeslessthanme to make the most out of the Call Star Sports On 08000 521321 Novices’ Chase at Hereford
The Class 3 Call Star Sports On 08000 521321 Novices’ Chase that is open for participation by five-year and above thoroughbreds is to be held at Hereford over two miles. The race that is scheduled for Monday, 5th March has attracted a lineup of
six runners while the purse for the race is £3, 899.
Doeslessthanme, Definite Article’s eight-year-old chestnut gelding out of mare Damemill, is trained by Paul Nicholls and it is being expected that the leveling down of the distance will suit the eight-year-old during this trip.
His seasonal debut was in the Bathwick Tyres Novices’ Chase on 7th January at Wincanton over two miles and five furlongs.
He finished the race second against Webberys Dream who led the track by nine lengths. The 7/4 favourite of the race, Roalco De Farges ended the race third on the track of four contesting.
He made only four starts during the previous season and was sent as a favourite thrice.
The last time Doeslessthanme won in the Fastener Network Ltd Novices’ Chase on 27th October 2011 at Fontwell over two miles and four furlongs. It was on the field of six that Doeslessthanme was the 4/6 favourite and won by 3 ¼ lengths. Helium
was the runner up of the race while Only Witness finished third in line after the winner.
He has remained winless in four of his last races and today he will be moving on with the second outing of the new season. His performance during the seasonal debut was not disappointing thus it has given the connections all the more reasons to stay hopeful
about the venture today.
Another entry that possesses chances of at least being placed in the race is Qaspal, Subotica’s eight-year-old bay gelding out of mare Une Du Chatelier. His seasonal debut was in the Weatherbys Cheltenham Festival Betting Guide Novices’ Chase on 23rd
February at Huntingdon over two miles and ½ furlong.
Owen Glendower, the 6/5 favourite winner of the race led the track by 4 ½ lengths while Qaspal could only manage settling fourth.
How would Qaspal succeed in switching the fourth position to something more worthwhile, will unfold soon.
