She said Obama would not be where he is if he wasn't African American. Is she right?

  2. Assuming that he had a different ancestry but similar genetic traits and life experiences, I think it would be fair to say that he would be in the same place he is now.

    If race has played an issue in his campaign, it is more likely that it has hindered him than helped him.

  4. Clearly his race is a factor, just as Ferraro's s*x was a factor when she was nominated for VP.  This doesn't mean he (or she) isn't qualified; just that his race is one thing in his favor.
