Doesn't Russia have a more legit historical claim to Georgia than US claims to the Pacific Hawaiian islands?

"legit" as in "they murdered more Georgians than anyone else in history" ?

Somehow I cannot remember the US bombarding Honolulu out of "love for the people"

Georgia was an independent nation absorbed into Russia in 1801.  It is up to you whether you think that creates any legitimacy.  I suppose Georgia was the home of Stalin, which may have some effect on something.
