  1. Yes they do wear a uniform.  They have a number, jersey and specific pants and boots.

  2. silks

  3. As has already been said all jockeys basically wear the same outift of breeches, long boots and silks (as well as a protective hat).

Each owner has a set of silks registered in his/her name - the silks are the name given to the coloured jersey and hat cover that the jockey wears.  Whenever the horse runs in a competitive race the jockey has to wear the registered colours of the owner so that the horse can be easily identified during the race.

  4. you need to work out the odds for the favorite in the 7th race???...lol...

Jockeys don't have a "uniform" as such ... but they do ride in the horse trainers colors ... each trainer has a set of colors so that their horse can be more easily identified in a race ... cause after all ... a horse is a horse of course of course ... and nobody talks to a horse of course ..... but I digress

  5. sort of.  All jockeys wear the same type of outfit, but a different color shirt and hat.

Jockeys all wear silks...  they have tall boots, white cotton breeches a long sleeved shirts and helmets.  The color of the shirts and helmets varies depending on the ownership of the horse.  It's so that people viewing the race can identify the horses.  American jockeys wear the same things as Japanese jockeys.

I'm a little confused about how the jockey's uniform would matter for math homework...  but sounds fun anyway ;o)

  6. Not so much a uniform, in the way we normally think of uniforms....but the apparel is known as "silks"

long ago owners had established 'house colors'....(to best remember think of the lil lawn ornament of the jockey holding a lantern)...they were used to identify one owners horse from another when they would race.   Those 'colors' soon became known as "silks"

Owners choose the patterns and colors and designs that they want to use to be identified as owners....and they are registered with the Jockey Club.

The jockeys tops/silks are colors, correspond with who they are riding for.

The breeches are white and the boots are black with brown tops.  The helmet also matches the owners colors.

They wear a numerical arm band and the horse has a number clipped to their bridle as well as having the number on their saddle cloth.

Today many are using the newer lighter materials, usually a spandex blend.

Now, I'm curious as to how Math figures in on this, unless the assignment is working with fractions....and ya have to come up w/ am example.

    Good luck!
