Question:

Doesn't anyone else remember when Russia was a major player?

They would tell obvious lies and didn't care what anyone thought. If a former party member fell out of favor he was removed from all mention, even to the point of air brushing them out of pictures and claiming they were never there. This is exactly what they are doing now in Georgia.

  1. They still tell obvious lies, they still don't care what anyone else thinks and although I don't live there, I'm sure they still make people go away. They are still a major player and they still posess the power to destroy the world many times over. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

  2. McCain was right...again, this time on Putin...he "saw K G B in his eyes"..

I do remember, Cold War veteran here... the Soviet Bear bombers the nuclear subs off out coasts..I remember!  to bad many kids here do not!

  3. How?

Decode this lyrics " All Rise"

    Look in the real world.

    With self lack of knowledge?

Do not even know what is "The Rose"

Who is still the major player in town.

    Luke 6.39-40,41-45,46-49

    What do you think?

  4. Russia has never ceased to be a major player.  Even though they lost their "superpower" status when they reverted to being called "Russia" instead of the "Soviet Union" and many of their satellite SSRs gained independence, you can't just rule out a country that spans the globe from Eastern Europe all the way to Alaska.  Especially with the size of their military and the number of nuclear weapons they possess.

Their economy struggled for awhile, but is now becoming strong once more, making them a force to be reckoned with again.

  5. Yes. I remember the Soviet Union even though I was still growing up at the time. I'm reading Nicholas and Alexandra which talks about Russian history. I remember studying Russia back in college in Western Civilization 1 & 2. I'm sure that you are correct. I still don't understand enough of what is going on. I'm confused about the intent. Russia wants to take over Georgia? It's because of the Capsian Sea, energy transport? Georgia's President is pro-U.S. and democracy?

I wish the U.S. would stay out of it but maybe it cannot. I feel so badly for the people in the middle of it. How awful.
