She has always been a Republican and never belonged to the AIP.  Her husband belonged to it for a couple of years.  The party was so popular in Alaska that one of the previous governors switched to this party to become governor and then switched back after he won.  If you look up and learn about the state of Alaska, you might understand the independent spirit of these people.  Its a different world there only tolerable by the most rugged individuals.

EDIT:  So, did your brother belong to the AIP???

I think she is the perfect republican in thatregard, after all they tried once already to secede from the Union back when they used to be Democrats, I'm not surprised one of their own would go that route again.
