Is this perhaps a coincidence?

  1. A quarter century ago, Florida had a hodgepodge of local concealed-carry requirements and a "may issue" type permit system, which made it difficult for many to get the permit. I think it was 1987 that they changed to a "shall issue" state-wide system greatly increasing the number of concealed-carry permits. Their rate of violent crime dropped like a rock. This gave impetus to a nationwide move to replicate the system, and many states have now based their own laws on the Florida law. Proponents have been pushing for interstate reciprocity for concealed-carry permits now for years. So, yes, it's coincidence. Obama, by the way, would be sure to veto any such legislation, having as poor a record on gun rights as any.

  2. People have always been able to carry a concealed weapon as long as they had a license

  3. ummm... i don't know where you got your information from but that is a law governed by state. In louisiana for sure you can easily get a license to carry a concealed weapon. That's nothing new.

  4. Ummmm...yeah...what bill is this again?

    Please cite it.

  5. CCP's (Conceal-Carry Permit) have been passing state by state for quite some time.  Personally, I believe the second amendment of the constitution already assures that right for US citizens.
