  1. Yeah a perfect warm up to the massive disappointment we will all feel at the London Olympics when we will probably do worse because Gordan Brown delayed the money he promised to development until the last minute then only gave a fraction.

Cynical maybe, but it would not be the first time.

  2. No. This rubbish bores me to death. I would rather watch paint dry !

  4. im very pleased for the GB team. they have done well.

it proves that with proper support and finances from lottery funding, we are up there at the top.

  5. Yes it does make me proud, but then again I have always been proud to be British.  I am thoroughly happy for Team GB and their sterling accomplishments in China, but I'm not a fair weather Brit who is only proud when we are winning medals.

  6. I am old now... but I remember a time many years ago.. When the country pulled together and we became thoroughly proud to be British.

I loved my country and was so proud to be British -- but things have changed so much and we have been made aware of so many awful things that have happened to be able to call ourselves British.. that I dont now feel the same.. So Sad ... a few medals wont make me feel better . but i am pleased for the individuals that have worked so hard to achieve them and have actually done so...well done to them .. but let them feel they have done so for themselves and not this failing country.

  7. yes they have all worked so hard for this, good luck to all of them. i watch it on and of all day brill

  8. it makes a pleasant change from the negative that mostly gets banged at us from all corners

  9. Ye i guess!!

i'm the 2nd british person 2 be born in my family so i guess i'm proud in a way =]

  10. It will take more than that to make me proud to be British a lot more.

  11. Sure does.

    Hooooraaaay! Go Britain

Big Congratulations to all the winners.

    Looking forward to Olympics 2012.

  12. i am already proud to be British

don't get me wrong, great achievement its very cool

  13. Scabby frog's back!

I'm pleased we've won loads of medals - makes up a little bit for the Euro and the tennis.

  14. What a great bunch of guys 16 golds so far and you would fit Great Britain into any American state, and lose it completely in Russia. To all those miserable Brits who say they don't care a toss send them all to Israel the so called "mightiest" country in the whole Middle East. They have not even won a single medal !

  15. No. why be proud of something others have achieved in something that has no interest to me, in the name of a country whose shame at facilitating US foreign policy is there for the world to see.

  16. Sorry but the Olympics leave me cold. They bore me rigid. So no not really.

  17. Proud as Punch I am

Just goes to show that our athletes are up there with the best!!!

Pure inspiration for all the kids watching too.

    Edit,

Thanks James, you're not so bad yourselves.  ; -- D

  18. the answer is NO  and they are only gold plated , the whole fiasco is a complete waste of money, also thousands of Chinese people have their homes etc. demolished without compensation to make way for the site and olympic village

  19. I'm impartial cause I'm boycotting the Olympics. Chinese brutality and occupation of Tibet MUST end. Too many have died in the last month alone and the world is like "Yay olympics!". Eh, hello?... the chinese government are killing tibetans and their families!?!?!? Everybody boycotted the USSR in the 80s, why not the Chinese this time around?

  20. Because Britts have more athletets immigrated from Africa, Asia and Australia during the past decade.

  21. Its Fantastic! I am very proud to be british and my son is so inspired by all the medals our athletes have won. I hope it will inspire all our athletes for 2012. I wish some people could be happy and celebrate our achievements for once or is that only the case when its football?

  22. No not really

The Queen and cups of tea make me proud to be British.

  23. As an American, I think you should be proud. Congratulations on such a successful campaign! Your fellow Brits who aren't, wouldn't be happy about anything. They are cynics who honestly believe that the 2.5 billion people watching the Olympics give a c**p that they are boycotting. Once again, Congratulations, Brittania!

  24. Why is Ben Ainslie flying the union flag UPSIDE DOWN?

At the olympics. He is representing Britain and the flying national flag (often called the union jack) upside down in the newspapers of the world is a great insult to our national sports image

  25. I don't give a toss to be honest.

The fact that a few people who are good at cycling and stuff were born in a particular country doesn't make the country itself any better.
