  1. Yes, if you drink too much water before running you can get cramps. But you need to make sure you stay hydrated, so drink plenty of water during the day before your race, and the day before... basically just drink lots of water every day. :) drink  some water and have a small snack maybe an hour or two before running to give you energy, then dont drink too much until after the race. then you can have as much water as you want.

  2. Water sips are good. separated water sips i mean. if you down your whole water bottle before you run then you will have very bad, hurtful cramps.  you should drink water after all your races or wat ever you run in are over. and lastly, on your running routine, before your races stretch, do some like high knees and buttkicks,  take a quick sip of water if you want, but it must be really small. then during your race you could still get cramps but they wont be nearly as worse as cramps b-cuz of water.

  3. Keeping your body properly hydrated is important.  8 to 16 ozs. 1/2 hour before a race is good.  If your running anything more than 2 miles you should rehydrate during.  Taking in 4 to 8 ozs of water approx. every 1 1/2 to 2 miles.  After 6 to 7 miles you will need more than just water, your body will need to have its sodium replaced.  Taking in sports drink and water up to 12 miles or half marathon.  Your body releases water through sweating therefore needs replaced.  Be careful not to over hydrate, your body can only release so much.  This can cause hypothermia.  Cramping can be caused by not breathing properly.

  4. To much of it does.

  5. It'll only give you a cramp if you drink or eat a lot right before you run.  Drink a lot a few hours before you run.   Drink just a little bit when you're running if you need to, but just a sip or two.

  6. For your water question yes water can give you cramps that is if you drink too much before a race or run. You should drink a lot of water the day before a run or race. Then if you want drink just enough to wet your throat. Then drink a lot of water after your race. For your routine run more than your race like if your race is 100meters run more than 100meters to build your stamina and endurance. Also don't run all the time for a workout take a bike ride or swim a few laps in a pool.

  7. if you drink too much, you'll get a stich-true...drink an hour before running, and just sips before the actual run if its real hot
