Not really. My husband is from Texas and he sounds like he is from up north, whether he is hollering or just talking. But me, being a Mississippi girl, I am breaking him in ;-)

NO but maybe it sounds like that to you because you aren't from here.  Would you rather him have a thick Boston accent so you can't understand him?  I've lived here all my life and even I can't understand some of what people who were born and raised in places like Southie are even talking about.

EDIT:  

I sound just like him...don't have that stereotypical "Boston Accent".  Some people depending the people they are around can change their voice.  Like in July my sister and I were in KY visiting family and she sounded like a southerner from being around all of them.
