Question:

Dog's Personal Grooming?

I have a terrier puppy and he has little to no hair yet on his belly - except a a tuft (bit) of hair on the end of his p***s - as he's a puppy he dribbles pee still alot and when you pick him up there's always a few drops left waiting for your hand to get rid of - I'm wondering would it be safe to trim this tuft of hair as this would eliminate as much pee from gathering there and make it more sanitary for everyone. Can anyone familiar with this, or a groomer or anything like this provide some info on this, thanks!!

  1. Yes, you can trim these hairs but PLEASE do not trim with scissors. You need some clippers. Trim in the direction of the growth of the hair. Otherwise you could have a nasty accident.

  2. This is  called sanitary grooming. You trim hair around the anal area, inside the legs near there and the belly   near the p***s and the actual p***s.This can be done with a clipper or scissors.Clippers are safer.Just be careful to not snick the puppy. This can happen with scissors  and even clippers.

  3. Sure, you can trim that tuft of hair off his p***s.
