Dog's first heat/peeing on blankets...?

My 1 year old Maltese is/was paper trained...she is starting her first heat and now she's peeing on our beds, blankets, etc...Is this normal...?

I don't know but she might be laying down her scent all over so other dogs can find her to mate with her

Yes it's normal and you can expect it every heat. Make sure you get her spayed soon to prevent it in the future.

Yes its normal. Dogs tend to do unsuual things. I also Have a yorkshire mixed maltese and when she was in heat she  tends to cry and scratches the tile floors. Only certain tiles she scratches.
