Alright I own a 4 year old chocolate lame (Ozzy) and yesterday night we went on a 6 mi. run. Later that night he was fine, this morning however he is limping on his front right paw and he yelps when you touch it. Are his pads simply sore I'm assuming?

  1. even dogs are supposed to stretch before running that long, poor thing, maybe your right, he might just have a sore paw, are maybe his muscle hurts, or maybe while he was running he stepped on something and it jabbed into his skin, go to a vet, my opinion

    hope this helped!

    good luck with him,

  2. Check everywhere for visible abrasions or thorns.  The smallest cut can really hurt.  You also might want to put the dog in the bath tub with warmish water.  This will alleviate the pain.   If neither work bring him to the vet.

  3. yes you are right or he has something in his paw and a six mile run is waaaayyyyyy to much.good luck

  4. i think you should check him, and then if u see a big cut or something take him to a vet.

  5. His paws are probably sore! But it's only one paw, which doesn't make sense. When you play with him roll him over to scratch his stomach, while you are scratching his belly have your other hand above his paw to see if anything is like stuck in it like a piece of wood or a rock. If there is something in it, take him to the vet. If the paw gets swollen ice it and watch him probably for 2 days. If the ice doesn't seem to be working and it doesn't look like he has anything in his paw. Than take him to the vet.

  6. You should take him to the vet.He might have a problem If he is in that much pain.If your dog has a problem don`t hesitate to see what it is.It might just save your dogs life.If you ever come to a really big problem.

  7. His pads may be sore or raw. He may have gotten a rock or thorn or sliver stuck somewhere in him. He may have bruises. If you can't find anything, take him to the vet so they can throughly check him.

  8. NOOO THAT LITTLE DOGGY<333 TAKE HER TO THE VET IMMEDIATELY

    WAHHH *CRIES*
