How do you actually calculate dog years?

If my puppy is 7 Weeks, Then how old is he in the dog world?

  1. Actually it is

    1st year = 5 human

    each additional = 7 human


  2. The myth is that you multiply your dog's age by 7, if my dog was 5 then 5 x 7 = 35, so the human age of my dog would be around 35, but this is not very accurate, it depends on the breed, size, health problems, etc. But the x 7 thing gives you a vague estimate.

    As for your puppy, it is pretty hard to tell until they are about a year old. But of course, ask your vet the next time you see them.

  3. Actually, it is x7 for large breeds and x5 for small breeds.  Our lhasa will be 17 at the end of the month which will make her 85.
