Dog breeds?? suggestions?

im looking for a bigger sized dog breed with soft fur.. and very friendly like a Bernese Mountain dog is one of the ones i looked at.. any suggestions?? just a big friendly dog not extremely big though

Italian Spinones are just that. Of course, I'm bound to be bias as I own 2 of them.

They are medium/large sized dogs, soft mid length fur, very playful, relaxed, obedient, smart. The list is endless!

I am assuming you know how to handle big, energetic dogs.

How about a Husky? A Collie? Saint Bernard? Pyrenean Mountain Dog? Alaskan Malamute? Golden Retriever? Labrador Retriever? German Shephard?

They are sort of big, very friendly and very smart.

Parson Jack Russels (not to be mistaken with their relatives Jack Russels) are sweet, kind, friendly, smart, playful, long legged, short-hairs, who need a lot of exercise. They are medium small sized dogs though. If you want to get it be warned they are rare and therefor expensive. You could probably find one from 800-900$. If you want to get off a bit more cheap get a loving border collie.

Greyhounds! They are the softest ever. And very friendly, but not in a jump on you, drool on you kind of way.

Go to your local shelter. You will probably find the perfect dog and you will be doing the dog a favour because most people don't want big dogs. Just go and tell them what you are looking for and I'm sure they would be happy to call when one comes in. Mutts are usually healthier and most of the dogs at shelters are there because they had stupid owners, not because they have some personality flaw. You can even play with the dog first to make sure it is friendly.Try it out!  Often times it works out better to find a dog individually rather than looking at the breed itself as within the breed there are personality differences. Well  a clumber spaniel is not big in height, but longer and have a huge heart.  They are very soft.  Also a Bernie is a great dog.

Also a Great Pyrenees is another great dog,
