Dog doesnt like rain! HELP!?

My dog does not like to go out in the rain (if sprinkiling he will) Well this causes a problem becasue we let him out and he doesnt go pee... So he goes pee and p**p inside! How do I get him to go outside in the rain?

It would help if I knew what kind of dog you had. I have a teacup poodle and I live in Alaska!! He HATES the cold and the wet! We box trained him as well as outside trained him so that during the winter my poor baby doesn't have to suffer in the freezing. If you have a small dog, that is something to consider. If not, then paper training if it's a larger dog (if you have a foyer or what not) ... If you have a hard time or need help with either of these techniques your local library should have books on how to house break dogs and the different methods as well as your veterinary clinic, local groomer, or dog trainer. Now when you take him outside, does he actually get wet? Or is it just the sound or feeling he doesn't like?

Maybe take him to a covered area to pee?

uh u can't really, he doesn't like rain, u can' really change that....but u could get an unbrella, and go outside with him and put it over him so that he doesn't get wet

How about, you go outside with him.  I have been known to put on my coat and get out the umbrella and take the dog out to pee.  He stays under the umbrella, and I take him under the trees to take care of buisiness.  I seems to work for us.  Then it's a race to see who can get to the door first, when come back home.  Good luck

You need to put him on the lead and walk him on the lead, until he has done his business. Most dogs don't like the rain.

Rather amusing, the Chinese do not like rain (personal experience) and hate it when their hair gets wet. ROFL

Dont know if this will help but our uncles dog doesn't like the rain either. So they bought him a rain coat and shoes and now he goes out.

Next time it is raining pretty hard just lock him outside for a few hours until he starts to like it.

If your dog hates rain then he hates rain. My dog hates he rain too but  I just snap the leash on my dog and drag her outside. I then dry her off with a towel when we go back in. She LOVES that part.

I personally like the rain. My pooch does her business at light speed just so she can go back inside.
