Dog food price went up again......?

o.k well dog food went up again from the $20 I did pay for a 36 lbs bag, Whick I could afford with treats and some beef or chicken ( that I would feed daily as treats) to $23 a bag, and now to $27 a bag, I can still afford it with the beef or chicken, but its not a great brand, its beniful with salmon, one bag lasts me about a month, the meat I don't pay for cause we have a big family and there are always enough scraps, what I want to know is there any other brand I can get for the same price and the same amount of lbs?

Jeez folks, these brands are made out of the garbage from human  foods. Your dog would be much better off getting more of your decent table scraps than that c**p! Find an actual feed store near you, that sells to farmers. You will find much better quality for about the same price. A food made out of real ingredients will save you money in the long run, because your dog will need less of it, and will stay healthy much, much longer. Purina is like feeding your kid McDonalds every day.

Purina one healthy naturals is a lot better. Purina pro plan is better too.

I feed my dog california natural though. It's the cheapest of the good foods with a very simple recipe which was good for my dog's skin allergies.

I know paying for a bag of dog food can be expensive.  More so if you live on disability.  I have a Shih Tzu so he is a little dog but he has special needs as far as no food dyes or preservitives.  I get him Egale brand Organic dog food in the long run it is better for him.  Beniful used to make him itch all the time and his skin was red alot. Now he is better.

Wow, thats some cheap dog food.  I feed mine Canidae lamb and rice.  It's twice what you are paying a bag and one bag lasts me maybe a week.  Maybe you can rewrite your budget and get something better.

Why not check out some of the better brands.  Chicken Soup is far better then beneful, but along one of the more affordable high quality brands.

They may look more expensive "pound for pound".. but do read the feeding guidlines.  Many times when you feed grocery store brands like Beneful and Purina, you have to feed 2-3 times the amount than what a higher quality brand suggests.

I used to have 3 small dogs, a 50 pound dog, and an occasional "foster" in my care..  a 40 pound bag of Chicken Soup lasted me not quite a month, depending on the size of the "foster".. average price was about $40 for that bag... may seem abit, but remember, I was feeding at least 4 of my own dogs, plus an extra or two on occasion!  I think the bag lasted me a whole month when I just had my 4!

Probably any other grocery store brand would be as good as Beneful so why not just have a look around?  You might find a better deal on Beneful in another grocery store or maybe you'd like to change brands.

Do not get Ol'Roy. My veterinarian told me that is is not a good brand of dog food at all. The true answer is that the more expensive the dog food the better the quality and the more the dog will like eating it. Unfortunately you will just have to buy what you keep buying because you can't get a really good brand for really cheap. Also, the higher the quality of dog food you get, the less of it your dog needs.

Do NOT feed Ol'roy. Try Purina Dog Chow. It is a tad cheaper but about the same quality as Beneful. And beneful is a purina product. Ol'Roy will KILL your dog along with other foods such as Mainstay and other "non-brands". Purina and Beneful is not the best but MUCH better then Ol'Roy

some pet stores have "clubs" that you can get into... for example... I buy my dog food at petco and I have a petco pals card... you buy 10 bags and get one free.. it's a free club and you get a card and just have them scan it when you buy a bag. Other stores do similar things... plus-if you go to a pet store they have sales every once and awhile too... check out petco and petsmart and any other similar stores that are around where you live.
