My dog has a bump under her tail. It looks like she was bitten, but as I touch it looks like it goes deeper into the body. There is a a small hole on it like if my dog was bitten or like she cut herself. Could it be something more serious?

  1. Since the health of your dog can be determined by a bunch of strangers on line, I'd be glad to help you out.

Hold the dog up to the monitor.  Closer....Closer.

O.K. now I see the problem. Your dog needs to find an owner with enough sense to take an injured dog to the vet.

  2. It could be a abscessed and/or ruptured anal gland, depending on where exactly it is.

Here's some pictures (not too pretty,be prepared):

If you don't think that's what it is, then it may be a bite.

At any rate, if there is swelling and a wound, she'll need to see the vet.  It is serious. Good luck.

  3. It could be a spider bite or something.  But you should take her to the vet right away in case it's a lump from cancer or something.

My cat had a lump like that and it was cancer.  But because it was caught very early, she was fine after surgery.

If you love your dog, have it checked.  Good luck.

  4. That bump is a sign that you should be taking the dog to a vet.

Isn't your dog's safety and well being worth a $35 office visit before it potentially turns into a real problem.
