Dog just bit by snake?? help!!! please?

my pitbull was just bit and she tore off the head of the rattler...

her cheek is swollen,this is her second time being bit, we got her the snake shot, and just gave her some benadril but i dont know if she can take this second bite, i am so scared for her, what else can i do other than take her to the vet because its almost 4th of july please help me! =(

it's funny pitbull owners always complain that pitbulls have an unearned reputation. well, one bad apple spoils the bunch, and how many dozens of people are attacked every year? these attacks aren't all fighting dogs. alot of these are loving family pets just like yours. and pitbull owners are always saying their dogs are discriminated against. no wonder black people love pitbulls so much. they can both sit around together and complain that they are being mistreated. well, i got news for you, the discrimination against both is well earned.

What kind of rattle snake was it and how big was it? I would try to get in touch with a vet and describe the snake and ask how you should treat it.

With as many people being attacked by pitbulls, it's good to see the pitbulls are the ones bing attacked for a change. I suggest you euthanize it and get a good dog.

Call the emergency clinic, or if you don't have one of those look in the phone book for your vets home phone number (or any vet's home phone number).  The dog needs immediate treatment.

where I live pitbulls run in packs of wild dogs and attack people. they are not pets. they will attack kids. we shoot all we see. you should do the same and get a chihuahua.

Oh get a life you people who are condemning pitbulls. They are actually a loving family dog if raised properly and very gentle with children at that. Blame the people who have bred and raised them for fighting, its always OUR fault, not the animals, keep that in mind.
