Dog smells still ...?

i just gave my dog a bath and he still smells like his dog smell.. is there any way i can get rid of it? anything i can put on him? thanks

Dogs smell like dogs, wet dogs smell a bit worse.

A high quality food can often make a dog smell less "doggy."  Solid Gold, Orijen, Canidae are all good.

He's a dog right, therefore he should smell like a dog not a flower. Plus giving a dog a bath makes them smell worse because the water brings out the dog smell. So you'll just have to get used to the doggie smell.

You can try and switch his food to something more high end (i.e. Nutro, IAMS, Science Diet).  What dogs eat can permeate through their skin just like it does with humans.  Many of the low end foods use a lot of by-products and things you wouldn't normally feed your pet.  While this is a long term solution, I have found through experience that it helps.  As a short term solution, try a scented dog shampoo (like vanilla) and conditioner.  There are also loads of dog "perfumes" you can use after a good bath that won't irritate the skin, we use one for our Pom who's fur tends to pick up on all kinds of things between baths/grooming and may resonate strange odors.  :-)

Some dogs are just smelly, dirty-loving dogs.  You can look online for products.  They do sell fragrances and pet wipes, check on Petsmart's website.

You should only use dog shampoo on dogs. Using regular shampoo reacts badly with their body and will make them smell bad. They also will smell like a dog more when they are wet. Once their fur dries completely, they should smell more like the shampoo used. I use this shampoo on my dog and it works really well. The scent lasts around 1.5 weeks on my dog, maybe longer on dogs that are less active ( I have a jack russell)

i have dogs and they always stink and i bath them in herbal essences so they smell nicer then the dog shampoo and sometimes i use conditioner that normally takes the smell away so i would use a nice smelling shampoo and conditioner or u could try bubble bath also my dog is white and talcon powder somtimes help

when u give ur dog a bath, u should use dog shanpoo- one that snmells good!

thats what i do,

and also you should give ur dog baths more often maby... every 3-4 weeks maby idk

well, getting the dog wet isn't helping. i don't know how to get rid of it because i don't have experience with dogs, but i do know why they smell.

wolves are the dogs' ancestors. in order for wolves to catch their prey, they roll in whatever they can to hide their sent. that includes droppings and all that good stuff (not good) dogs also have that instinct. while they don't go off hunting animals, they still roll around in anything.
