  1. What a cute idea!

There are the Air Bud movies, there are so many of them I can't remember them all, and there's a good chance that they've seen them all.  There's LOTS of dog movies though.  You can go to Blockbuster though and check it out, there are SO many of them!

    For games you can do:

Pin the tail on the doggy, instead of the donkey, print out a picture of a doggy and have it blown up, then print out another one and make copies and cut out the tails, enough for each girl.  The one to come closest wins.

You can do a pinata with dog treats! LOL  Get a pinata in the shape of the theme, which is a puppy and fill it with different types of puppy treats. Don't tell them what's in there!  When they break it open puppy treats everywhere!  OR you can put the regular bag of pinata filler in there mixed in with puppy treats being the party's for the party, and this way the girls get treats and the puppy gets some too!  Tell the girls that the candy is ONLY for them, you don't want the puppy sick and the bone shaped cookies are for the puppy being he/she is the star of the party!

You can also make this a teaching experience so they know when they're there, what NOT to feed the dog.  Have a trivia game of what the dog can NOT eat because it will make him sick.  Things like chocolate of any kind (cookies, ice cream, cakes, etc), human toothpaste  Onions, grapes, raisins, apple seeds, these things can kill the dog, even in very small quantities and it's better if they learn it now, you can do a trivia game with them so they know this!  Chicken bones are also NO good for them.   You can always talk to your vet about what else, those are main offenders that are really, really bad.  You don't want to scare the kids, but they do have to know when they're at your house snacking and eating the things that the dog can't have.

Games you can play with them are:

-Name as many dog foods/treats as you can that's out there (pedigree, puppy chow, etc)

-Name some dog movies, (101 Dalmations, 101 Dalmations II, Air Bud, Air Bud II and however many more, I know he plays basketall, football, and I think even soccer. Lady and the Tramp,  All Dogs go to Heaven, All Dogs Go to Heaven II, Benji,

You can even have them name movies with the word Dog in the title:

The Truth about Cats and Dogs

    Alpha Dog

For food you can cut things with a bone shaped cookie cutter or just serve regular looking food.  I would serve her favorite foods if she likes pizza have that, if she likes burgers, do that, etc.

I would definitely check around Blockbuster for the dog movies, there are TONS of them out there.  I just can't thing of them right now, but they are out there!

I hope this helps and that your daughter has a great party with her friends.  Congratulations on your new puppy!  May he/she bring you many, many years of love, joy, and happiness and lots of sloppy kisses!

  2. go to the dollar store and pick up dog bowls and serve all your snacks in them- you can even get one for every girl attending and write their names on them in a fat black marker. have hot dogs or corn dogs, cookies in dog bone shapes or dog houses, cheese in dog bone shapes, make a batch of that puppy chow mix (chex mix with peanut butter and choc- recipe is online), and any other doggie type snacks you can think of. you can put newspaper on the table as a table cloth and you can even make little piles of dog p**p out of melted tootsie rolls to place on the newspaper! If you would like you could also purchase a stuffed dog for each of the girls and put them in a dog house you made out of a cardboard box- then each girl can adopt their new dog to take home. you could set up some kind of relay race to incorporate doggie type activities like- crawl from one spot to another pick up a real doge bone in their mouth then back to the other spot where they l**k water from a bowl then attack a mail man...etc. stuff like that maybe. fastest time wins a prize.

i agree, just let them watch chick flicks :)

  4. Old Yeller, Bengi, Milo and Otis, All dogs go to heaven, 101 dalmations... all the classics!  A new movie tho...? none that I can think of.  They are coming out with Marley and Me, but its not out yet.  It is a great book tho!!
