We are emigrating from the UK to New Zealand in October and are taking our pet Labrador. I

s it possible to have the dog up in the seating area of the plane as opposed to the hold as we are worried the stress of going in the hold might not be terribly good for her.

  1. the answer is no...no airlines carry pets on the plane in the passenger cabin.

don't worry though...your dog will soon get over the stress of the journey...just like you will!!  good luck in NZ!!

  2. No sorry she will have to go in the hold, have a word with your vet they can give her tablets that will help a great deal with the stress. PS good luck with your new live.

  3. No, the dog will have to go in the hold, but really, its fine, try not to worry about this.

We came over to Cyprus a couple of years ago with our two German Pointers. We sought advice from several sectors, and in the end, we plumped for custom built carriers for them, just enough for them to be able to turn around, and lie down comfortably. We were told that sedation is really frowned upon, as this can often cause adverse reactions. Its generally found that once in the hold, ( in a heated section) it is virtually pitch black, and therefore, with the darkness, and the hum of the engines, the dogs soon settle down and pretty well sleep for much of the journey.

Our dogs certainly didn't suffer any ill effect from the trip...and soon settled here. I think it would be more stressful for them in the seating areas with strangers passing backwards and forwards all the time.

  4. a big NO

  5. No, i think that's not allowed unless it is a guide dog.

  6. only chance of you doing this, is if you register yourself blind, and quickly train the dog.

  7. No - dogs travel in crates in the hold, in a special area.

  8. YES..., you can !!!

I was on a plane To Istanbul (TOURING, last Summer) and I saw a man having his puppy in a dog house hold (those special baskets) and take her into airplane !!!

but there was a blanket covering the Dog case..., for the dog not to be scared (I guess) !!!

  9. Give your pet(dog) a plenty of food and a safe water bottle that she can drink on, and a nice comfy (comfortable) pillow to rest her body on...

Animals are much frustrated the same as we as humans do, during our journey on the Sky. . .

Give your peg(dog) a toy to play with, or if you are RiCh enough I suggest you can just take the dog with you inside your private jet air-plane...

Thank you for Reading, and God Bless and Loves you~~~

  10. No.

  11. I'm sure it's not allowed as I have never hurd or seen a dog in the passernger area of a plane

  12. I have seen small dogs in the passenger sections of planes but only lap dogs I think a labrador may be too big but you can always ask. Good Luck (: and Have fun

  13. No way. My bro just moved to S.Africa and his dogs went in the hold and were fine. Its heated down there and they are given a mild seduction.

The only dogs I have seen in the cabin of a jet wer wearing hostess uniforms.LOL

  14. You would only be able to do this if the dog was a guide dog.

  15. reckon that's a no!

  16. No it is not possible. The only way that some airlines allow dogs to travel in the ajasent seat is if the passenger is blind. Even then you will need all the correct documentation.

Dogs travelling as cargo as usually fine and well looked after by the staff. They will be keep in a nice quarentine area until they are ready to be loaded. The hold will be lit and heated, so the animal will be comfortable. Just make sure they are aware of the dog on board as you dont want any frozen pets.

However,  a long journey to new zealand could be quite stressful for a first time flying dog.xx
