  1. Front line is the best flea thing ever and go to your vet as well

also you can bye flea collars they r amazing!

  2. you are right about treating the house as well as the dog if you only treat the dog the problem will still be there.

You can buy stuff at any pet store there are powders and sprays or you can go to your vet.

You will be best off doing the whole area the dog has been in and i'd do it twice a few days apart.

Spray or powder your dog with the appropriate product as well,I used to use the stuff you put on the neck but kept a can of flea spray at hand as i used to still find an odd flea.

  3. It is a good idea to treat your house.  You can use flea powder for carpets, or a spray.  I like to use something with a growth inhibitor if the problem has been bad.   These will break the growth cycle.

It may be necessary to treat your yard.   If you are still getting fleas after treating your house.. then consider the yard.   There are good sprays that attach to the end of your garden hose that work well.   Be sure to follow all the directions with any flea products.

There are "natural" remedies that people say work well.   Do a search on natural flea control and you will find some.   Cedarcide and Neem products are a few.

  4. vacuum your carpet really well!  you need to do this everyday, probably twice a day.  After you vacuum, sprinkle salt all over your floor and let it sit.  Fleas HATE salt.  They will eventually die, but you need to find the source...  It may be a neighbor's dog, cat, etc... or a stray.  Get rid of the source and you'll be fine.  If you can't get rid of the source you need to protect agaisnt it.

  5. Get flea powder carpet sprinkle, leave the house for a while come home and vacuum it up..

  6. If you think you've spotted some fleas but aren't quite sure, run a flea comb (a fine-toothed comb) over your dog's back, groin area, haunches, and tail. These are the places fleas like most.

Your dog's continuous itching and scratching will probably be your first clue that he's got fleas. If you look closely, you may actually see the little dark brown bugs. More likely, though, you'll see what look like black and white specks. The black specks are "flea dirt," or flea f***s. The white specks are flea eggs.

  7. even if the fleas die, they lay eggs which then hatch. this can be in your carpet, bedding, curtains, cracks between the floor they are crafty little buggers!!frontline spot on is fab but you have to do th ehouse as well

the only thing that works is a spray from the vets like vetkem or any equivalent that they sell. powders do not work neither does vinegar or anything you can buy from the local pet shop. thestuff from the vets is so much stronger

  8. Yeah you will need to get the spray for the house too. Spray all of your furniture and curtains carpets and everything with it, to be honest i find the flea powder most effective, you leave it on the carpets for half and hour and then hoover it up. Hoovering is also good to pick up any eggs or dead fleas (you could do your chairs, curtains etc too). You can't put the powder on furniture i don't think but you can just spray them. We had an infestation over the summer, and they are all gone now. Good Luck

As for what animal lover has said: fleas are known to bite humans too, not just animals. If there is no animal around, or the animal has the flea repellent on it won't go near, it will go to the nearest living thing that wont poison it lol, like a person. So spray your clothes too.

  9. i heard that sprinkling salt on the carpet kills them, sprinkle, not pour though!

  10. Fleas can only last up to 24 hours off its food source, and carpet is not its food source. They can only live off animals, not humans or carpets.

So long story short you don't have to worry about them in your carpets

  11. TAKE THE DOG TO A VETS ALSO FOR CARPETS USE DISINFECTANT AND VINEGAR CHECK THAT YOUR CARPET WILL NOT COLOURIZE BEFORE YOU DO THIS!

  12. treat your house with flea spray or carpet shampoo and also do the dogs bed and any beds and couches that the dog lays on . once i had to wash all my teddies after a outbreak of the little buggers !!!!
