Dogwithacollar expected to dominate Gain Feeds Corn Cuchulainn 750 Final
Dogwithacollar is rated as the hot favourite for winning the Gain Feeds Corn Cuchulainn 750 Final at Harold’s Cross in Ireland on Friday, July 13, 2012. A victory will earn his owner prize money of €12500 in the end.
The Grade OR, 750 yard event is scheduled to start at 21:30 GMT and there are some very good runners lined up for action in it. However, no one is as good as Dogwithacollar, who has been delivering some terrific results in recent times. His ability to perform
under pressure puts him above others, thus the bookmakers and punters have got immense faith in his abilities.
The Houlihan’s trainee debuted in September 2011 and unlike other greyhounds, he was sent in a Grade OR event straight away. This was a big challenge for him, but he was still rated as the favourite to win by the bookies. He was unable to meet their expectations
though and could only manage a fourth place finish in the end.
Afterwards, the young hound took part in a couple of GR events, where he performed well overall. He proved that his stamina was very good and he could challenge the best in the business at the highest level.
After a couple of impressive runs in another class, the black and white dog was once again tested in a Grade OR event. He was not rated as the favourite this time around and was given odds of 7 to 1 by the bookmakers. He was the least favourite to succeed
in that race, but delivered a spectacular result under pressure, winning by two and a half lengths. His speed was impressive throughout the event, as he led very soon and held on until the end.
There were a few inconsistent performances from Dogwithacollar at the start of the 2012 season, but he did a decent job to find his rhythm. His trainer worked hard with him and he seems to be unstoppable at the moment.
Out of his previous five races, Westmead Hawk’s son has managed to win thrice, which shows the kind of dominant form he has been in recent times. He is expected to carry a similar momentum at Harold’s Cross today.
