  1. easy bake is correct

sod is about 35 cents for a 12"x12" square and you get grass right a way.

The slow way is a bag of seed is about 40 dollars plus starter fertlizer 30 dollars alot of water and about 1 month

  2. You should be able to do it. I just bought a new house, and my husband  and I have put in the whole yard. For grass all you need is to level the soil(add any top soil if needed) and put down sod or seed, just keep it really moist. All landscaping is just hard work! Good Luck!

  3. It's a lot cheaper to do it yourself.  For instance, if a landscaper did your front yard say for $5,000, you could realistically do the same area in the backyard for about $500 or less.  The real key is in the planning and preparations.  Any home improvement store or nursery will have people to help you with recommendations and have various planning kits available to help you through this.  You can also find useful information at web sites like diynet.com and hgtv.com.
