So, who knows the comaprison between Dollars and Notes/Pounds(I'm not sure which one it is they use. My bad). Like is their money like... the exact same value as ours or more or less or what? I'm curious as a cat. That's why my friends call me whiskers. Also any other currency value comparisons that you may be informed about

  1. you can get a real education learning to be a FOREX trader

    FOREX = Foreign Exchange

    whereas the Stock Market is 9:30 to 4:30 trading $25 billion Monday Thru Friday

    FOREX trades $3 TRILLION a day from 5pm Sunday (it's Monday in Asia - ) to 5 pm Friday afternoon

    If I had left a trade in last night - I would have made 130 pips

    as it was I lost 40 for the week (weak) so glad I am learning and

    playing a trading account with 'funny' money

    You can make money with any major PAIR

    going up or down

    USD = United States Dollar

    GBP = Great Britain Pound

    JPY = Japanese Yen

    CAD = Canadian Dollar

    CHF = Swiss Franc

    EUR = Euro

    AUD = Australian Dollar

    you will see them notated GPB/USD

    or USD/CHF, USD/EUR

    any of these major pairs go up and down on a daily basis

    and you can trade for $2,000 account

    when the price is going up = you buy

    going down= you sell

    the best software I have seen for analysis is

    http://www.leveragefx.com

    it's a $2,000 program and the e-signal costs $100/month (bad news)

    GOOD NEWS - if you trade 10 units or 100 minis a month- -

    one of their two banking partners will pay it for you! WOW!

    my goal - (the real base is money management)

    4 pips a day starting with $2k =I will retire in two years

    8 pips a day $2k = 10 months

    may trade real money in January 09

  2. Money is easily changed inn the UK . Dollars can be changed to pounds in any High Street Post Office ( all towns have them ) . No commission and you dont need your passport . $2 = £1 approx .

    Euros used in Ireland and mot EU countries .

    Scottish pounds same as Bank of England pounds but prettier

    Only pound notes in Scotland . Pound coins mostly used . £5 , £10 , £20 notes in common circulation as are £50 and £100 .

  3. You get, roughly $2 to the Pound (£) at the moment.

    Very few places in the UK will accept Euros.

    In the UK we have

    Copper coins to the value of 1p ( p=Pence) and 2p

    Silver coloured coins to the value of 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p. In England we now use a coin for the £1. It's a pale gold colour. We also have a £2 coin, same colour but larger and a ( rarer ) £5 coin.

    Notes to the value of £5, £10, £20 and £50...

    I'm sorry Col..but I don't think the £100 note ever went into production. There used to be a £100 note many, many years ago...but not now.

    Scotland still uses the £1 note and you can still accept them here in England. Anyone refusing Scotish notes (shops etc) are breakng the law as they are legal tender here too. As long as the note has 'Stirling' written on it it's legal tender.

  4. Us British use the Pound as our currency and it is currently roughly twice as strong as the US Dollar ( one pound is worth two Dollars )The Euro is used widely across Europe but not in the UK

  5. pounds are worth more than the american dollar, about half so .50 pence is 1 dollar.

  6. The British use pounds which they call "pound notes", just as we use dollars which we call "dollar bills".

    Currencies go up and down. Today the exchange rate seems to be 1 pound=$1.92. So right now traveling to the UK it will seem like everything is very expensive.

    Most of the European continent uses Euros.

  7. Im not sure. But i think the dollar is weaker then the pound...

  8. I'm going to England in a month and decided just to times everything by two to be safe.  It's easy to keep it simple, right?  So 10 GBP = 20 U.S. Dollars.  If you want the exact conversion (and conversions for other countries), go to http://www.xe.com/.  For Euros, I times all the amounts by 1.5.  So 10 Euros equal about 15 dollars.

  9. It varies daily

  10. Here is a great tool from yahoo... it is updated real time and you can see how far your money will go .
