I’ve seen on the Incheon International Airport that there is a Korea Exchange Bank at that airport. It closes at 9:00 in the evening. Does the Korea Exchange Bank at the airport have the same exchange rate for $ = won as the ones that are not in the airport?

  1. No, it's different.

I just called them (I need to know too).

On the KEB website AND at my local Cheongju branch, they cite US Dollar exchange rates as:

    buying: 1023

    selling: 988

buying means i have won and i want to get dollars from them.  so for every 1023 won, i get one dollar.

selling means i have dollars and want to get won.  etc.

The airport branch quoted me these rates for today:

    buying: 1036

    selling: 975.5

Which are worse rates than the website.  They told me the website is only quoting to "basic" rate.

So if I were you, I would just go to a local KEB branch before you fly through Incheon.  That's what I'm planning to do.

Oh, and the exhange rate changes every day, so don't take these quotes as the final word.  They'll probably change tomorrow, but the higher prices at incheon will probably remain true.

    good luck!
