hi i have a few qurstion on dolly the sheep and they are....... how was she formed, how did they do it and finally was dolly a good thing (final answer in some detail please)

  1. Simplistically speaking, a cell was taken from her mother [ a mammary gland cell ] and implanted into an unfertilised egg [ which had it's nucleus removed ], in the mother. This meant Dolly was an exact genetic replica of her mother 100% ."was dolly a good thing ? ", that's an ethics question, most of the scientific community applauded it, as it was a huge advance and could have potential benefits for mankind [ reproducing perfect sheep, cows etc. to maximise milk, meat, wool and so on ]. The general public was unsure due to lack of knowledge perhaps ? and fears of 'Frankenstein ' type science.
