Dolphins at Milford Sound...?

It was recently my Grandparent's 50th Wedding Anniversary. My Grandfather use to be the Guardian of Lake Manapouri so my Grandparents are pretty friendly with Real Journeys and Merdian Energy.

We were all lucky enough to have a private tour of the Te Anau Glow Worm Cave and a boat trip out on Milford Sound.

It was really amazing and we saw Fiordland Crested Penguins and Seals but no dolphins! I was so gutted!

Is it normal to not see them? Has anyone else done these trips and enjoyed them?

  1. I have never been over there, but I do recall seeing them when I was on the Cook Strait ferry.

  2. It was a shame you didn't see them, but you have seen a lot of other wonderful things to remember for years to come.

    I am a little envious.

  3. Yes Love, after the orca's they are the most intelligent see creatures and define self where they chose to stay. The temperature of the water and clearness of it determine of they will come or go, stay or live and don't forget. they must have something to eat!
