The manager for the Flying Donkeys states that he wants the team to have fun in the upcoming derby against Udinese; insists the club is targeting the 50 point mark for the season.
Domenico Di Carlo has revealed that having secured their stay in Italy’s top flight, he wants the team to shake off all pressure in the upcoming derby clash against Udinese on Saturday.
The Gialloblu have a eight-point cushion over the relegation zone, and are set to visit their Friuli-Venezia Giulia neighbours for their next league fixture.
The manager insisted that safety was the prime objective for the club, and having achieved a comfortable place in the points table the team has earned a breather.
The former Sampdoria manager went on to say that the club will be looking to improve on the 46 points benchmark from the last season, and told that achieving 50 this season will be a proud feat for the club. The tactician insisted that the club has built
up a strong base in the season from where to launch a strong finish to the end of the campaign.
While talking to the press, the delighted 48-year-old said:
“We are here to improve and after achieving safety, we want to have fun. Hitting 50 points would be a great achievement, as last season Chievo finished on 46. We will certainly try to take that step forward and we’re in the ideal conditions to have a strong
end to the campaign.”
Di Carlo stated that he respects Udinese as a mighty opposition with a lot of quality in the store. He insisted that both the clubs are hungry for points in the quest for their respective objectives, and believes that the match is going to be an absolute
cruncher.
“Udinese are a great adversary with a squad of excellent players. They’re fighting for third place and the Champions League, but we too have objectives. I am sure it will be a wonderful match.”

The club are currently placed ninth in the Serie A standings, with six games to go until the end of the season. They require another eight points to reach the 50 points mark in the current season.
