Dome’s Victory sets a new record at the Ruidoso Horse Sale Pavilion
Daughter of the Storm Cat stallion Dome, Dome’s Victory brought $75,000 to reach the new Mexico-bred select yearling sale on 20th August held at the Ruidoso Horse Sale Pavilion. The chestnut was purchased by William R. Hatchett from Double LL
Farms.
Dome’s Victory’s half sister, the In Excessive Bull filly Excessive Victory ended up earning $102,928 from four different races.
It has been observed that there was an overall increase of 38% from last year as far as the offerings from New Mexico-bred Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred Sale are concerned. The average per horse sold was $8,076 up from $5,862 a year ago.
The Thoroughbred offering on Saturday night included yearlings and breeding stock while the Quarter Horse offering was only based on yearlings. The results from this auction amassed a gross of $738,750 for the 86 yearlings that were sold.
On top of this five broodmares of 17 offered were sold. They grossed $17,900 and averaged $3,580. $4,000 was reported to have been the median for that date.
Yet again, Double LL Farms at Bosque, New Mexico, proved to be the leading cosigner with 53 yearlings out of which 45 are Quarter Horses.
The list of the most renowned consigners goes on with A&A Ranch, Anjora Corp., Buena Suerte Equine, Crystal Springs Farm, JEH Stallion Station, MJ Farms, and Weatherly Horse Farms.
Two famous and leading sires, Desert God was represented by four yearlings, three of whom will be offered during the Select portion of the sale and secondly Sixes Royal was also represented by seven yearlings including a half brother to stakes winner Love
o Finish First, the half brother actually is an unnamed colt.
There were five yearlings that were sold for $30,000- Gold Change which was consigned by Mesa Vista Stud and acquired by Joe Dee Brooks, Lee Lewis, and Dale Taylor, an unnamed colt got consigned by Crystal Springs Farm and was acquired by Glenn Berry, Monty
Brooks, Rodney Brooks, and Don Reid.
There were other proceeds to the sale as well including an unnamed filly given away by Double LL Farms, bought by Andres Gonzalez; Maruka’s Best is again a filly consigned by TNL Farm Inc. and acquired by Joe Dee Brooks, Lee Lewis Ted Rushing and Dale Taylor.
To mark the end it was again an unnamed colt yet again consigned by TNL Farm Inc. and got acquired by J & SM Inc.
All in all the sale proved out to be a beneficial endeavor for both the ends, the consigners and the buyers. It is also one of the flourishing sources for the horse racing industry to start thriving again. These can be held more frequently at regular intervals.
Previous acquiring from here have led to profitable career oriented horses which makes the sale all the more desirable.
