Domestic Shorthair Cat Problems! Help??

Ok, so yesterday night my mom and I brought home my aunt's cat, who is going to stay with us for a little while (about a month) and she is a female domestic shorthair. We also have another female cat (same breed) at home, but I didn't think there would be such a problem when they met. The 1st time it happened, they started hissing and scratching at each other under the bed and it sounded like biting too. This happened at midnight and another time around 5am. I don't know how, but I ended up getting NO sleep! I know, they have to get used to each other, but is there any way I can get the two cats to get along quicker?? I really like sleeping haha jk!

BTW: They are both spayed and neutered and are about the same age 5-6mnths.

  1. seperate them. Allow them to get used to the noises/smells the other makes.

Like keep them in two seperate rooms and every couple days switch. Then after a eek or so allow them to meet supervised.

  2. New feline relationships equal time and patience.  Give the kittens some time to adjust and usually they work everything out just fine.
