Dometic R V refigerator model

Dometic R V refigerator model RM2611. Will not cool on gas or electric. The unit that has the filler plug on the end(Looks like a thermos bottle on its side) gurgles when supposed to operate. Unit lights the gas when turned on to gas, and seems to try to operate when on gas. My service depot says that the cooling unit is no good and has to be replaced. What do you think.Hank
