i've been reading questions on yahoo answers about dna and most peole seem to say that the fathers dna is stronger.. nobody ever says maternal dna is stronger. honestly i have been reading lots of questions and MANY people seem to be saying fathers dna is more dominant. are they stupid? there has never ever been any proof to that

i think its either mothers dna is stronger or split half and half exactly but no way is the fathers dna stronger

i know lots of people and honestly, usually when the mom has blonde hair, the kid has blonde hair. trust me.. if i saw a blonde women and she was pregnant i'll bet anybody that her child will be blonde, i look into stuff soo deeply and i have noticed this, male and female children always look more there moms race UNLESS there mixed with black and white, thats a whole different story.

they are random mixed celebritys and some people i know who are mixed, i can't think of anybody else mixed in races apart from them at the moment but wow do you see my point?!. they all look more the mothers race! and i also noticed that most people speak fluent of there mothers language and not many people who are mixed speak there dads language..

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/1431489.stm i doubt that one day sperm will be able to fertilize without an egg cell where as egg cells can without the help of sperm

here are some ideas why maternal dna may be stronger:

when the EGG splits the baby becomes a twin

the tail of the sperm comes off when it enters the egg so it can't swim anymore

women are born with egg cells and have periods to keep them going yet men ONLY produce sperm

you only have your mothers mitchondrial dna, basically i have a huge list of reasons why maternal dna is stronger yet most people (about 90 percent) think that paternal dna is stronger.. i don't see that at all, i've always thought that maternal dna is stronger and the fact that well, technically you are more what your mom is cause your mom's the one that has you inside her for 9 months, so you're bound to get more DNA and genes from her. of course i could be completely wrong. i've never ever met somebody who looks more there dads race than there moms. my dad is latin, his darkkkkkkkkk skinned, my mother is irish, me, my sister and my brother are pale skinned with green eyes, we all look exactly like our mom, just more pale!

give your honest opinions on this?!

  1. Wow..this is a long question (LOL) but I have wondered the same thing.  I have noticed that for some reason...if a baby is mixed it appears (in my observation) to take after the father.  My friend had a baby by a black guy (she's white) and the baby looked black (you could tell he was mixed because of his hair texture).  A black co-worker had a baby by a white guy and it had blue green eyes (eyes stayed green - he's older) and really pale skin.  At first it was hard to believe it was her baby because he was soooo light and she is really dark.  In that case...it was the father's genes that were dominant.  I don't understand enough about genetics to explain why this happened but I do find it interesting.
