I've noticed many of them have dark hair with ivory skin and defined eyebrows that are darker than their hair...what do you think?

  1. England has got so much of a mixed history that you'd be hard put to actually find a real English woman to base your study on.

Over the years we've had Romans, Vikings, Saxons, Normans and French to name but a few, invading our shores, that even people who can trace their families back more than 1000 years are going to be unsure of their exact heritage (and I doubt there are many who can trace back that far).

But I think that originally, your typical English woman would have had dark hair and maybe light coloured eyes (pehaps blue or green).  Skin tone would no doubt have been pale, it being a cold country.  I would also guess that build would have been hour glass shaped (b***s and hips) - assuming she was living a decent life with enough to eat back then.

It's a good question though - if anyone has any good websites or info about this, that'd make for interesting reading.
