Domingos Paciência: Daniel Carriço unlikely to feature for Sporting Lisbon

According to Sporting Lisbon manager, Domingos Paciência, defender Daniel Carriço is still unlikely to take to the pitch, as other players in his position are in far better form than him.
Portuguese International, Daniel Carriço, has not featured for the Lions for some time now despite being the club captain and a decent player.
Although it was speculated that the centre-back might seek a move away from the club in the recent transfer window, no proposals came in for him during the summer.
Sporting also added a number of defenders during the close season, with pick of the lot definitely being American international, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Oguchi-Onyewu-c28332. Due to the form of the former A.C Milan man, Carriço has been restricted to the sidelines and has not featured
for his side until now.
According to Sportinguistas coach, Domingos Paciência, the skipper is not currently in the best of forms and better players than him deserve the chance to don the Red colours.
Speaking to the reporters, Paciência said at the moment Carriço was not the first choice defender because there were better players at his disposal than him and he could only accommodate only two at a time.
"I do not see anyone down anyone, but I see in the defense, two players per position. Maybe some better than others at certain times. Other will be different.”
The trainer also reiterated that current back four were doing a great http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 and that he was in charge, and thus decides who plays and who doesn’t.
“It is up to me to see who is better placed. In the last game those four earned trust, not to say that tomorrow [today] cannot be others. Will depend on the work going forward,” Domingos Paciência was quoted as saying.
As game time appears to be a limited commodity at Sporting, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Carriço-c9926 should seek a move elsewhere, where not only his talents as captain will be better appreciated but he would be able to play on a regular basis.
