Domingos Paciencia talks tactics ahead of Sporting Lisbon’s UEFA Europa league tie with Nordsjaelland
Sporting Lisbon manager, Domingos Paciência, has claimed that the responsibility of scoring goals is not only on the strikers but also on the rest of team and said that his side would try their best to qualify for UEFA Europa league.
The Lions are scheduled to take on Nordsjaelland at Estadio Jose Alvalade after an uninspiring 0-0 draw concluded the first tie of the two-legged qualifier.
Despite spending millions on their squad, Sporting Lisbon were not able to dominate games as much they thought they would and will have to be on their toes at home.
Manager Domingos Paciência was also hoping to see a result for his side and said that it was not only up to the front men to score goals but the responsibility of the all players.
"We know that we were superior in two games of the championship but we have missed the goals. It is a work that has to be done. The responsibility for making goals is not just the strikers but the whole team. When you do not win, is the responsibility of
the whole team.”
The Portuguese tactician went onto add that although his side were struggling when it came to finding the back of the net, he was certain that the problem will be countered in the next fixture and a victory will be attained.
"Insufficient goals do not give confidence to a building side. There has been this gap in recent games but tomorrow the team will resolve this and get our presence in the group stage of the Europa League,” Domingos Paciência was quoted as saying.
Sporting Lisbon are all set for the crucial match but will be without the services of several key players, who are all out with injuries.
