http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 former all-rounder, Dominic Cork, has decided to leave Hampshire suddenly at the conclusion of this season. However, it will be hasty to imply that his exodus will bring a conclusion to his 21-year-old county career.
There have been speculations that another second division county may be interested in contracting him; however, it is evident that Hampshire is not going to renew his contract for the 2012 season.
The 40-year-old all-rounder remained a persistent performer throughout his Hampshire spell. He has secured 94 wickets for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hampshire-c789 at an average of 27.77; while his best bowling came in 2009 when he grabbed five wickets for just
14 runs against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Worcestershire-c866.
He has performed exceptionally well in the shortest format of the game as he took 43 wickets at an average of 24.06 during 45 domestic T20 games.
"I don't want to be picked because of what I've done in the past, I want to be picked because I can make that difference and if I believe I can do that I'll carry on," Cork said after Hampshire's Twenty20 triumph last year. "
Cork said that Hampshire has taken the decision about him and opted to place their confidence in youngsters who are promising and have a lot of enthusiasm to play for Hampshire.
"Dom has made an outstanding contribution to this club over the last three years," said Hampshire manager, Giles White. "He's been a very popular figure and has played a huge part in a successful period in the club's history. Two
trophies and leading the club to another Finals Day says it all. We wish him all the best for the future."
The right-handed all-rounder, who turned 40 in August, 2011, enjoyed some outstanding achievements during his three-year stay at the Rose Bowl; he won the 50-over domestic competition in 2009 and the Friends Provident T20 in 2010.

He had begun his first-class career in 1990 and played a long time for Derbyshire as Captain, after which he joined http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lancashire-c806, where he was also captain until he moved to Hampshire in 2009 where he was made the captain in 2010.
