Dominic Dale leaving Vienna to go back home near South West Snooker Academy in Gloucester
Welshman, Dominic Dale is going back to his homeland, the UK, after spending four years at the Austrian capital city of Vienna to sharpen his snooker techniques and tackle with the hectic game schedule
in the UK. The 39-year-old will leave for home this weekend to reside near his practice club, the South West Snooker Academy in Gloucester.
The Coventry potter, is currently ranked at number 31 in the World Snooker Rankings, revised after the World Snooker Championship 2011 in May, and occupies number seven spot in the Players Tour Championship
(PTC) Order of Merit.
The former Grand Prix champion, Dale talked to the local media and said, "I will be sad to leave Vienna because I have a lot of friends there. I want to say thanks to the Koo 15 Reds snooker club
for the support and friendship I had there. I love the culture in Vienna, the beautiful buildings, the opera house and the cosmopolitan nature of the city."
The Welshman had a tremendous last season as he grabbed Star Xing Pai PTC Event six after beating Martin Gould 4-3, and made to the semi-final stage of Star Xing Pai PTC Event four where he lost at
the hands of the Rocket, Ronnie O’Sullivan 3-4, after a tough fight.
Dale has his eyes on the upcoming snooker tournaments of the 2011-12 Snooker Season and he will be giving proper time to his practice at the South West Snooker Academy in Gloucester.
The player added, "The Academy in Gloucester is a great place to practise. The tables there are Championship standard and it's not often in my career that I've had the chance to play on tables like
that every day. I still feel that I have another decade as a snooker player and this will help me get the best out of myself. It's up to me to make the best of this opportunity."
The world number 31 also appreciates the return of snooker to Australia and is looking forward to qualify for the upcoming Australian Goldfields Open snooker tournament commencing in July.
