Dominic Moore a major player for Tampa Bay Lightning arriving from Montreal Canadiens
Tampa Bay Lightning’s coach, Guy Boucher, says that his player, Dominic Moore, is by no means given the recognition that he deserves.
Moore was brilliant during the first game of the Eastern Conference Finals against Boston Bruins.
With the performance that he bagged, he was named the number one star of the game as Lightning secured the first game of the series to go ahead by 1-0 in the Conference Finals.
The effort and hard work that Moore put in during the game could be seen from the fact that he was the star player even though he didn’t score a single goal.
He has never been the type of guy who scores goals but with a diverse knowledge of the game, he is able to take the team forward and win games for them on most occasions.
"He does everything but [Sean] Bergenheim gets the credit or [Steve] Downie gets the credit. When you look at the clips, you realize a big portion of why they were successful was because of Dominic Moore", Boucher said. "It is not surprising to me. That's
why we brought him in. Last year I thought he was one of the better players for Montreal in the playoffs and I liked him during the season. He's just continually doing what I feel fits exactly with what we want to do with this team".
Factors that lead us to say why he isn’t given the deserved recognition is that even though he was superb during last year’s playoffs while playing for Montreal Canadiens, he wasn’t followed by Canadiens with as much eagerness as expected.
There should have been many teams interested in getting the player but there weren’t much.
However, Lightning’s general manager, Steve Yzerman, was glad and appreciated his assistant for coming up with such an impressive deal. The deal, as said by Yzerman is one of those deals that have changed quite a lot for the team.
Moore has become one of the key players in Lightning’s line-up, coming up with brilliant performances every now and then.
He has shown that he is among the very best in the National Hockey League, maintaining a record of 53 percent when it comes to face-offs.
This the second time in the playoffs that he has come up with a brilliant performance. He has done quite a lot for the team as he has scored two goals and a total of nine points out of the 12 games that he has played so far.
He has formed a formidable partnership with Sean Bergenheim and Steve Downie, who are continuously assisted by him in scoring goals and bringing Lightning a lot of success.
