Dominican Cuisine...What's the best?

I am going to a high-end Dominican restaurant in the largely Dominican neighborhood of Washington Heights and Inwood in NYC. I have had Dominican food prior to this, but nothing high-end. What are some of the best dishes to try? Are there any drinks that will compliment my good food?

  1. I would have to say Pollo con wasakaka (Roasted chicken with seasoning). It's delicious! You can't go wrong with chicken.

  2. pescado con coco   (Fish in coconut milk ), fried plantain (mofongo) and locrio (like riso valenciana ) rofo vieja ( Shredded beef ) and fried yucca . very good combination. for dessert you can have  mango cake . you can ask for the local long drinks named coco loco.
