Dominican Republic Hotel Question?

my friends are going to Dominican Republic for a week and they have booked their tickets, i decided to go also. I want to share their room with them, and looked online line and the difference for adding me to their room was $250 total. We were told by yahoo travel we would have to wait to get there to pay the difference. We called the hotel and it might have been a little bit of miscommunication but we received a quote of 84 dollars per day to add me to the room. After looking online we see that that was the price of an additional ROOM for that time frame. We are on a budget, could this had been a little miscommunication or something? What should be done?

This is the problem when somebody try to reserve a room or a supplement going by-passing professional people. There are rules. If the first time you looked at the rates did you book it and payd directly? No ? So there is no booking. They think this is a supplementary room not a supplementary pax in a already booked room. That's the whole problem. The only thing you can do is when your friends are checking in, you pay the supplement for the whole time of stay. If they don't accept it you will be forced to book a separate room at the full rate (84 us/day) witch is cheap anyway for a all inclusive resort.

What you can do is just mail these hotel and ask they add you as 2nd person (occupant) with the already done reservation of your friend, and pay the sum by bank transfer to their account. Hope this helped.
