Canadian team dropped another chance to break the ice.
The duo of Brayelin Martinez and Gina Mambru worked out a stellar feat for Dominican Republic in the match. Both players had a great chemistry between them and complimented each other throughout the match. They added 19 points each and led Dominican Republic
to a splendid win. They shared the top-scorer’s slot in the match. Prisilla Rivera also grabbed a lot of attention due to her skilful play. She helped the team with 17 points.

the second mandatory break. Canada struggled and scored 17 points, but it was not enough to save them from loss. Dominican Republic sent 25-17 on board and secured the opening stanza of the match.
Canada hit back aggressively in the following set and showed remarkable improvement. They did not repeat the same silly mistakes and achieved a better result. Canada won the set by seven points and levelled the game score at 1-1.
The happiness of Canadians was short-lived as Dominican Republic bounced back and clinched success in the next two sets. Dominican Republic announced match victory and moved 2-0 in the tournament.
“There were some mistakes. Players are a little tired. It is normal but we cannot get down in the rhythm of preparation,” he added. Canada, with a young team is now in a process that has been continuously evaluated by coach Arnd Ludwig.
“Brittney (Page) showed good defense. We had a couple of good rallies and on the second set the girls did a good job. Now we have to focus in our next game and to make the most in the streak of points,” Ludwig remarked.
Head Coach of Dominican Republic Marcos Kwiek was satisfied with his team’s performance. He said it was a difficult match, but his team did pretty well. Furthermore, he added that it is good to play some difficult matches before the start of 2012 London
Olympic Games.
