Dominican Republic in August. Weather?. Also does anyone know the Lifestyle Tropical Beach in Confresi?

I am thinking of travelling there with my Husband and 8 year old daughter - but am a little concered about the poss of hurricanes / storms during that month. Any advice would be much appreciated - Also does anyone know the Lifestyle Tropical Beach Resort in Cofresi - Good or Bad

Honestly you just got to keep up with the weather reports. No one knows when one will hit or when a tropical storm over there will hit. But all is there are alot of poor people with tin houses that look like the slightest winds will knock it over but somehow have survived years of hurricanes. But for everyone else all the houses, buildings and hotels are made out of concrete. Made especially for hurricanes (unlike florida).

Hi Debbie G.,

In Puerto Plata we had 3 hurricanes in 115 years, so the chances are minimal to be exposed to one. Maybe you will have sometimes a bit of rain ( 10 to 20 min.) and then Sun again, so nothing to spoil your stay with us. Lifestyle T. Beach Resort is simply very good, so no worries about the quality.

I may suggest you to discover this beautifully country, when you are there you are at 1 hour driving from where began the new world ! ( La Isabela) and you have Ocean World just next the corner of your hotel. Anyway if you need more info, happy to help you'

TRULY,  .....CAN  I  MAKE  A  LITTLE  SUGGESTION  TO  THE  STORM  CHASERS  THAT  ARE  SO  WORRIED  ABOUT  BEING  CARRIED  AWAY  TO  OZ  IF  THEY  TRAVEL  TO  THE  TROPICS  DURING  PEAK  HURRICANE  SEASON ?   LIKE ,  HOW  ABOUT  STAYING  HOME  AND  BUYING  THAT  MINIVAN  WITH  25  AIRBAGS  AND  200  STAR  CRASH TEST  RATINGS  AND  USING   YOUR  ON  BOARD  NAVIGATION   TO   GET  YOU  TO  THE  NEAREST  6  FLAGS  .  THEN, AFTER    THE   WEATHER  CHANNEL   HAS  PUT  ANTI  LOCK  BRAKES  ON  HURRICANE  SEASON  ,  YOU  CAN  THINK  ABOUT   COMING  TO  THE  ISLAND  .       I  MEAN ,  DUH,  WHAT  ELSE  CAN  I  TELL  YOU  FOLKS  FROM  KANSAS  ..   HOWEVER  ,  LIFESTYLE  RESORT AT  HACIENDA  IN  COFRESSI  IS  AS  CLOSE  TO  THE  EMERALD  PALACE  DOROTHY  WILL  GET  IN  THESE  PARTS.  IF  SHE  CAN  GET  A  ROOM ,  SHES  MADE  A  GOOD  CHOICE   AS  EVEN  THE   GREAT  OZ  HIMMSELF  PARTIES  HERE  ( DOMINICAN   PRESIDENT  LEONEL  FERNANDEZ ).    SHE  CAN  EVEN  SWIM  WITH  THE  DOLPHINS  NEXT  DOOR  AT  OCEAN  WORLD.  BUT  BE  CAREFUL ,  CONSUMER  REPORTS  HAS  NOT  YET   GIVEN  FLIPPER  A  CRASH  TEST  SAFETY  RATING  ...   VIVA  Y  GOZA !
