Dominican republic fun fun fun activities!?

Question

I was just wondering if there were activities like air balooning, or ice skating available in the dominican republic. I wanted an out of the box idea to take my friend on the perfect fun day..and show him a bit of what I like to do, i'm quite the adventurer! please any ideas would help..

I suggest Cabarete. It is a little surfer's town with a little bit of "je ne sais quoi". For young people such as yourselves, check this out: http://www.activecabarete.com/ . If you want to go to Puerto Plata. I would suggest Playa Dorada.  You can go-cart race in Puerto Plata.  But in my opinion, nothing beats Cabarete. And, that is coming from someone who lived in DR for many years. Now, I live on the other side of the island, Haiti. Haiti is poor but it is growing slowly.

Not sure about ice skating, we are a tropical island. However we have many activities to pick from for example at Bayahibe I remember they had wind surfing, horse back riding, excursions to a non-habitable island called “Isla Saona”. In Las Terrenas, Samana they offer an excursion to “El Salto del Limon” which is a small water fall deep inside the forest were you had to walk for hours. In Puerto Plata there is Jet Ski for sure, there is an interesting trip to a high mountain using a cable car where from you can see the city below.

Ice skating in the Dominican Republic ? in a sub tropical country? Yeah!? and the ballooning stuff for that you must go to Belgium (Europe). I just got back from Puerto Plata and we did the Puerto Plata Runners tour. It was so much fun, you go through the countryside and go horseback riding on a beach, visit a school, do lots of drinking and other fun stuff.

Also, an excursion to Paradise Island is really awesome too. The best place for snorkeling.
